Over the past decade and beyond, we have notoriously known Baltimore City for government corruption, abuse, and waste. It is time to put an END to taxpayer abuse and hold those who seek to undermine our city ACCOUNTABLE! The People of Baltimore work hard for their money, it should be spent efficiently and effectively, not blindly.
Currently, children within Baltimore City Schools cannot read, write, and perform basic math. They do not have sufficient access to mental health and social services resources. We MUST strategically and aggressively create and implement education reform policies and initiatives that will enrich the child's mind, body, and soul and lift them out of poverty.
The police have left residents within Baltimore to dry with little enforcement of open-air drug markets, murder, and auto thefts. Currently, BPD has a 30% murder investigation clearance rate. We must provide BPD with upgraded training and technology use, expansion of mental health services and crisis intervention for residents, holisitic community-policing strategies, and holding criminals accountable by keeping them LOCKED UP! No longer will residents have to live in fear, rather, protected by their local government.
Baltimore City was once "The Greatest City on Earth" with thriving and vibrant blocks and communities. Now, it is hard to picture Baltimore as anything but Great. With vacant properties and blight, it has decimated communities within Baltimore. We must strategically invest in housing and homeownership to reduce property taxes, end homelessness, and create robust economic opportunities.
